Courteney Cox grew up with her three sisters and an older brother in Mountain Brook, an affluent Alabama town. She attended Mountain Brook High School and during her high school years, she participated in multiple extracurricular activities and was a versatile student. She experienced her taste for acting after dropped out of the architecture program at Mount Vernon College. She is a former model who signed with the Ford Modeling Agency after finishing high school.

In 1984, she was cast as a young debutante in one episode of the long running soap ‘As the World Turns’ but got her big break when she was cast by Director Brian DePalma . She appeared on several Magazine covers and in television commercials. She was People Magazine’s 1995 cover girl, for the ‘50 most Beautiful People’ issue. In 1985, she starred alongside Dean Paul Martin in the series ‘Misfits of Science’. Cox appeared on TV as Michael J. Fox’s girlfriend in ‘Family Ties’.

In 1994, she co-starred with Jim Carrey in ‘Ace Ventura: Pet Detective’. On successful sitcom Friends TV show , she played the role of Monica Geller who is the excessively neat and organized “older sister” of the group.

This grand role got her a nomination for as American Comedy Award and a role in ‘Wes Craven’s Scream Trilogy. At the set of Scream, she met fellow actor ‘David Arquette’ whom she married in 1999. Their wedding took place in San Francisco, at the historic Grace Cathedral atop Nob Hill. Five years (plus one day) later, their daughter Coco was born. She voiced Daisy, the cow, in Steve Oedekerk’s 2006 animated feature Barnyard. In her free hours, she enjoys modeling and decorating homes.
