Lisa Kudrow is a Jewish American-Emmy Award winning actress and is very fluent in French. She is the daughter of Lee Kudrow (father) and Nedra Kudrow (mother) and has one sister and two brothers. She attended Portola Middle School, in Tarzana, California and graduated from Vassar College with a BA degree in Biology before starting her acting career .

She began her comedic career as a member of The Groundlings. Her first TV role was as Ursula Buffay, the eccentrically silly waitress on ‘Mad About You’. On successful sitcom Friends, she starred as Ursula’s sister ‘Phoebe Buffay’ and for this role she won an Emmy Award in 1998 for Best Actress in A Comedy Series. Her film appearances include ‘Romy & Michael’s High School Reunion’, ‘Hanging Up’, ‘The Opposite of Sex’, ‘Analyze this and its sequel Analyze that’. She won New York Film Critics award for her role in ‘The Opposite Sex’. She has also starred in the biopic Wonderland about the late porn star John Holmes.

Kudrow portrayed Valerie Cherish, the main character on the HBO original series, The Comeback. She also served as co-creator, writer and executive producer. She married French-born Michel Stern, an advertising executive and has one son, Julian Murray. She currently resides in Los Angeles. She won the best actress award for her performance in Friends TV show.
